Behind The Curtain

Hello all, thanks so much for checking out my blog!

My name is Jen and I’m a Portland, OR based actor. I’ve been overweight my entire life, and have been trying for the past 16 years or so to lose it all. I’ve lost before but have gained it all back (and then some). Now here I am, 92 lbs. overweight. On the eve of my 30th birthday, I’ve resolutely decided this will be the year. No excuses.

As of July 21st, 2012, I am following the Weight Watchers program to safely and consistently lose the weight.

What you’ll find in my blog is an honest account of what it is like to lose 92 lbs. I anticipate a lot of great milestones, awesomeness, and celebrations, but weight loss is not all sunshine and roses. Sometimes it will just plain suck. I’d attempted a weight loss blog before, but I tried to keep it completely positive and upbeat all the time, which, when you’re losing a lot of weight, is certainly not always those two things. Here you will find the good, the bad, and the ugly, completely BS-free.

If you’d like a more comprehensive story about my lifelong weight struggles (complete with pictures), my very first post on this blog pretty well covers it.

Thank you for visiting, and I hope you enjoy my journey!

Cheers!  ~ Jen

    Hi,
I am on a weight loss goal too! Not using WW tho, just nutting it out by myself with the help of a few good bits of advice from Australia’s Biggest Loser trainer! Looking forward to watching your process, and congratulations on what you have achieved so far 🙂
    Cheers
